XAKESTAR is a Persian Rock band from Tehran. The band is composed of Mohammad Khojaste (guitars, bass, lead guitar, backing vocals , synthesizers) , Hani Rajabi ( lead vocals, piano, synthesizers, electronics, other instruments) , Behrooz Bazargan(drums, percussion, electronics) since 2000, lyrics are written by Mohammad Khojaste and some by Behrooz Bazargan .
The band started it's career as an instrumental band, Xakestar recorded their first single , "lost eternity" in 2003 months after their fist live performance in Tehran at Farabi Hall . Xakestar were largely inactive following their concert. The band started recording some music independently, doing a lot of progress, forming their style of music, as they are doing it now . after some years of hard experimental work they started to record their new album and they are on it now.
Xakestar's first live performance was mostly Gothic Metal oriented but the band tried to compound this style with their taste of Electronic/Rock . They attached a few covers from the better-known bands like: Hypocrisy, PINK FLOYD , Moonspell ... to their originally composed pieces . At this time Xakestar's sound is a combination of many styles like Doom metal, Industrial and Progressive Rock ... after nearly 10 years of xakestar's activity something is clear : the band dont like to be enclosed by the numerous music styles. However you can hear some Folk music influences on their records .
